CIOs and CISOs are prioritizing more resiliency in their endpoint security strategies for 2020; cloud-based endpoint protection platforms (EPPs) are proliferating across enterprises today.

Gartner predicts that global information security and risk management end-user spending will reach $174.5 billion in 2022, with approximately $50 billion spent on endpoint security.

According to Morgan Stanley, endpoint security tools make up 24% of all IT security spending, and global IT spending is expected to reach $128 billion in 2020. Despite this increase in IT spending, 70% of all breaches originate at endpoints according to the International Data Corporation (IDC).

There are several factors influencing CIOs, CISOs, and IT directors to prioritize endpoint resiliency. Effective resource management that is based on real-time data, accompanied by securing and certifying every endpoint, can allow a device to heal itself using embedded regenerative software at the BIOS level.

CIOs say the real-time monitoring helps reduce resource management operating expense. The endpoint market is very likely to increase in 2020.

There is a competition between over thirty vendors in the endpoint security market right now. A few of the most interesting are Absolute Software, Microsoft, Palo Alto Networks, and others who are seeing an efflux of activity from enterprises based on discussions with CIOs and CISOs.

Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) incident response console collects alerts and incident response activities over Microsoft Defender ATP, Office 365 ATP, Azure ATP, and Active Directory, along with Azure.

Enterprise customers are setting a high priority on endpoint security, which eventually leads to an increase in valuations of major providers in this market.

From what CIOs and CISOs are saying, it’s evident that resiliency is transforming endpoint security today and will stimulate in 2020.
