At vTech Solution, Inc., our business infrastructure, technology services, and culture are designed to implement, promote, and maintain eco-friendly solutions. We are committed to minimizing the carbon footprint in vTech, our partner communities, and our customers’ businesses. COVID-19 Food Drive

The impact of COVID-19 has touched us all, but for some, it has been particularly harsh. In response to the desperate needs of the most vulnerable, not-for-profit organizations and charities mobilized to support those facing unprecedented challenges. vTech, in its commitment to contribute, partnered with the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB), the region’s largest hunger-relief organization.

Together with CAFB, we are actively involved in the mission to provide food assistance to nearly 400,000 children and families who are struggling with limited access to essential nutrition in our region. The pandemic, accompanied by social distancing measures and lockdowns, has resulted in a scarcity of nutritious food, affecting the lives of children and working families. In the face of these challenges, our collaboration with CAFB aims to alleviate the impact and ensure that those in need are no longer deprived of one of life’s necessities: food. The call for help is even more crucial during these trying times, and vTech is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of those affected.

Pulmonary Fibrosis

The word “pulmonary” means lung and the word “fibrosis” means scar tissue, similar to scars that you may have on your skin from an old injury or surgery. So, in its simplest sense, pulmonary fibrosis (PF) means scarring in the lungs. But, pulmonary fibrosis is more serious than just having a scar in your lung. In PF, the scar tissue builds up in the walls of the air sacs of the lungs and eventually, the scar tissue makes it hard for oxygen to get into your blood. Low oxygen levels (and the stiff scar tissue itself) can cause you to feel short of breath, particularly when walking and exercising. Also, pulmonary fibrosis isn’t just one disease. It is a family of more than 200 different lung diseases that all look very much alike. The PF family of lung diseases falls into an even larger group of diseases called the “interstitial lung diseases.” Some interstitial lung diseases don’t include scar tissue. When an interstitial lung disease includes scar tissue in the lung, we call it pulmonary fibrosis. The mission of the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation is to help people understand what it means to have pulmonary fibrosis. The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation is focused to act as the trusted resource for all who are affected by this disease. Their signature programs include:
  • PFF Care Center Network
  • PFF Patient Registry
  • PFF Patient Communication Center
  • PFF Ambassador Program
  • An international network of support groups and online communities
  • The PFF Summit
  • Comprehensive disease education materials
