The Maryland Tech Council’s CEO, Kelly Schulz, has been appointed as the latest member of the Hood College Board of Associates. This board is made up of alumni, parents, friends, and business leaders who volunteer their time, expertise, and experience to help Hood College and its students.

Having graduated from Hood College with a bachelor’s degree in political science in 2006, Kelly Schulz previously worked as the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation Secretary during former Governor Larry Hogan’s administration from 2015 to 2019. During her tenure, Maryland’s apprenticeship program grew to its highest level since 2008, with over 10,000 apprentices statewide, and received national recognition as one of the best programs in the country.

Kelly Schulz held the position of Secretary of Commerce in the state from February 2019 to December 2021, during which she worked on enhancing the state’s relationships with businesses under the department’s jurisdiction.
